Twitter has hidden for the first time this Friday a tweet from Donald Trump as a result of “glorifying violence”. Ensuring that it violates the rules of the platform, the possibility of interacting with it through Retweets, comments or likes has been reversed.
A move by the social network that comes days after Jack Dorsey’s signature tagged several of the president’s posts as “potentially misleading” and that he reacted by signing an executive order to control moderation rules of these services.
In the previous case, a link under them urged the user to access more information. Now, however, the tweet shows a sign that hides it, stating the reasons. Despite this, users can still access it because it is considered to be in the general interest.
“This Tweet violated Twitter’s Rules regarding glorifying violence. However, Twitter determined that it may be in the public interest that such Tweet remain accessible.”
