Corsair MP510 is one of the most exciting solutions for the high-end of an internal storage segment, occupied today entirely by solid state drives.
As we had the opportunity to verify in our analysis of the unit, the Corsair MP510 stands out for its high transfer speeds, reliability, useful life, support and warranty.
Delivered in a format M.2 2280, connects to a PCI-E 3.0 x4 interface and supports NVMe 1.3 protocol. Its controller is a Phison PS5012-E12, while the memories are 3D NAND TLC (three bits per cell) of 96 layers supplied by Toshiba and of proven reliability.
Until now, this Force Series MP510 series was sold in storage capacities of 240 GB, 480 GB, 1 and 2 TB. The novelty is a new model that doubles the storage capacity to reach 4 Tbytes.
Its performance is similar to that of the 2TB drive and achieves sequential data transfer up to 3,480 MB / s / 3,000 MB / s in read / write modes. Random performance is just as impressive, rising to 580,000 4K IOPS / 680,000 4K IOPS.
A launch is expected this week. We don’t know the official price, but it will be close to $ 800. The truth is that those 4 Tbytes are more than enough to install as a single unit in any desktop PC or workstation (not to say in laptops), but if it is too high an investment, you can buy a smaller unit and combine it with SATA SSD or take advantage of hard drives you still have.
You can buy the Corsair MP510 with 240 GB for just 78 euros or the 480 GB version for 119 euros.
