Samsung has added a new model Galaxy Tab A to its catalog of electronic tablets with Android. And it is unexpectedly cheap considering that it supports broadband networks 4G-LTE.
The Galaxy Tab A (2020) mounts a TFT LCD panel instead of the OLED ones that we have seen in other Samsung tablets. Price obliges. Its size is 8.4 inch and its native resolution is adequate for its size, a WUXGA of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
Its internal hardware engine is composed of an Exynos 7904 of the brand with an eight-core CPU, combined with 3 Gbytes of RAM and 32 Gbytes of internal storage, expandable by microSD cards of up to 512 GB.
The battery is 5,000 mAh And it should offer up to 12 hours of video playback or up to 11 hours of Internet browsing, depending on the manufacturer’s data. It has a fast recharging system through the USB-C port that includes at the bottom and that also serves for data.
It includes a 5 MP webcam on the front and a main one on the back with 8 megapixels with autofocus. It also has Dolby Atmos certified sound support, stereo speakers and a headphone jack. The S Pen stylus would have been the icing on a model like this, but Samsung hasn’t added support for it.
As expected, it has Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0. However, what is unusual for a tablet of this price is the integrated module for LTE. It pre-installs Android 9 although we assume that it will be updated to Android 10 shortly.
The Galaxy Tab A (2020) has an official price of $ 279 and it is already being sold by US operators. It will not be able to compete with the benefits of an iPad Pro and neither with other models from the same Samsung, but it is an interesting model for those looking for an inexpensive tablet with the ability to access 4G broadband networks.
For those who want more, Samsung has the largest and most powerful Galaxy Tab S6 on the market and the first 5G tablet on the market.
