PineTab reservations will start later this month, according to Pine64, the company that started competing with the RaspBerry Pi and that today has in the market (or in development) laptops, mobiles, smart watches and tablets.

PineTabe is the new electronic tablet of the firm and it bets on two characteristics that we have already seen on the PinePhone: Linux and economic price. It will ship with Ubuntu Touch pre-installed, but it will work with others as we have seen on the smartphone: «PineTab is compatible with the PinePhone and Pinebook software versions. Therefore, over time, it will run most of the mobile operating systems developed for our platform, as well as the popular desktop OS options. ”

Regarding hardware, PineTab is committed to basic components focusing its use on the input range. Its screen is a 10-inch multi-touch IPS LCD with a native resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, while its engine is a 64-bit ARM with four cores, accompanied by 2 Gbytes of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage expandable with microSD (systems bootable from it) and with a free M.2 slot.

Its battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh charged through a USB Type-A port. It has two cameras, speakers, and a headphone jack.
