Surface Earbuds are the new smart wireless headphones from Microsoft and according to the information that has reached the Internet, they will be available in Europe from May 6 at a price of 199 euros.
The segment of smart wireless headphones is one of the fastest growing in recent months in the large group of wearables. Apple dominates in an important way, but there are alternatives from sound specialists and other great technology like Samsung in the high-end.
Surface Earbuds will be Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s AirPods and they are designed with ease of use, autonomy and productivity in mind. They can be controlled both by voice and through gestures and touch, thanks to the touch surface that they integrate. Regarding their autonomy, it ensures that they are able to offer up to 24 hours of use for each battery charge and they come in a case that makes it easy to transport and recharge. 10 minutes of charging will provide one hour of autonomy.
The “productivity” approach is novel and can be a big difference from the rest as they include several Integrated features of the Office 365 productivity suite. Microsoft leverages its flagship software including dictation, translation, or the touch of a headphone to advance a PowerPoint slide.
Microsoft promises improvements in connectivity to be able to pair them with our devices quite quickly thanks to the one-click connection system. For optimal voice interaction Microsoft has integrated two directional microphones and a system of noise reduction that will allow you to enjoy good audio quality and also experience dictation tasks with Office.
The speakers are 13.6mm in size and will work at 20KHz response frequencies. They weigh just 7.2g (40g with box) and are IPX4 certified against sweat and water. They have support for digital assistants such as Cortana, Siri and Google Assistant and compatibility with Windows 10, Android 4.4 or higher, iOS 9 or higher and Bluetooth from 4.1.
In “Glacier” color finish, Microsoft will market the Surface Earbuds in Europe from May 6 for 199 euros. In addition to the devices and their box, it will include a USB Type C to Type A meter cable.
