The presentation of the Intel Comet Lake-S processors is scheduled for tomorrow, but thanks to a complete leak we have had the opportunity to meet all the models that the chip giant will present, as well as its specifications and their selling prices.

As expected prices are in dollars, but we have accompanied an estimate of the price adapted to euros after converting currency and adding taxes. They are not definitive, but they should not be far from the official prices that the new Intel Comet Lake-S will have in Spain.

Before entering to see the breakdown of models, I remind you that the new Intel Comet Lake-S processors are manufactured in 14nm process ++, the same used by the Intel Coffee Lake Refresh. There has been no evolution in terms of IPC, so the performance at the same frequency of a Core series 10 core is the same as that of a Core series 9 core.

Intel will repeat the approach we have seen in this generation, which means that its new processors will be divided into a total of five ranges.

Celeron range

Low cost solutions that offer good performance in applications and undemanding tasks.

Intel Celeron G-5920: 2 cores and 2 threads at 3.5 GHz. It does not support overclocking and has a TDP of 58 watts. 59 euros.
Intel Celeron G-5900: 2 cores and 2 threads at 3.4 GHz. It does not support overclocking and has a TDP of 58 watts. 49 euros.
Intel Celeron G-5900T: 2 cores and 2 threads at 3.2 GHz. It does not support overclocking and has a TDP of 35 watts. 59 euros.

Pentium range

They can handle not very heavy applications and even games that do not require four physical cores to function optimally.

Intel Pentium Gold G-6600: 2 cores and 4 threads at 4.2 GHz. It does not support overclocking and has a TDP of 58 watts. 99 euros.
Intel Pentium Gold G-6500: 2 cores and 4 threads at 4.1 GHz. It does not support overclocking and has a TDP of 58 watts. 89 euros.

New 400 series socket and chipset

Intel Comet Lake-S processors will use a new socket, the LGA1200, so we will need a new motherboard to be able to use them. They will also be supported by a new chipset, differentiated within the 400 series.
