Beyond the first stumbling block at launch, Google has been putting in an immense amount of effort and resources to make its console shine, achieving in this time not only fulfilling all the initial promises of resolutions and latencies, but increasingly increasing its compatibility in devices. In fact, the latest Stadia update has silently added full compatibility with all Android phones, now allowing its use in terminals that are not yet officially compatible with the service.
To do this, we just have to download and access the application from our phone, open the menu of “Setting” and look for the tab of “Experiments”, in which we can find the new option for Play on this device. So remember that as its name suggests, it is still a testing and development service. And it is that these experiments are the perfect way to test new functions so that we can receive your comments. We will have more subscription programs in the future as we seek to provide you with even more useful features.
However, the real novelty comes with introducing mobile touch controls, with which players can start playing directly on their devices without the need for any remote. A function that according to they assure from Google, is still in an experimental phase, in the same way as the compatibility of this cloud gaming service with Android, so it is possible that we can still find some errors and updates over time.
To access touch controls, simply select «Test the game touchpad» after starting a game without a controller connected. Touch controls are available for all games in Stadia.
Stadia continues to grow, but its competition also
As we noted before, beyond what was expected by players, Google Stadia has established itself as an evolving project rather than as an immediate revolution. Something that can be seen even more reflected in its catalog of games, which after its release with just 22 compatible games, promises to reach more than 120 titles during this 2020, with up to ten exclusive deliveries for the platform.
However, this model over time also means the arrival of new competitors such as the recently announced Steam cloud service, which in addition to having added compatibility with the NVIDIA GeForce Now platform, promises a library model based on the titles already purchased on its platform, in total countermeasure to the necessary purchases from the Google platform.
